CORE CLASSES

SOUTH AFRICAN DRUMMING:
This class is two fold. The students will first discuss and demonstrate the roles and responsibilities of (Ngoma) a Zulu drum and the todays adaptation Sangba, Dunuba or Kenkeni (West African Drums) to produce music. We will then combine both drums and play music ..... Finally students will have an opportunity to share in the process of creating music...
SOUTH AFRICAN DANCE:
The students will discuss and have a demonstration the different dances and the role responsibilities they played in the history of South Africa(ns) in the olden days and the influence today. We will then combine Traditional movements of Yesterday with contemporary dance choreography of today as they learn team-building and performance concepts that build self-esteem, character and cultural awareness.

SOUTH AFRICAN SONGS:
The students will discuss different styles songs (Traditional songs, Gospel and Himm) demonstration the different songs and the role they played in the history of South Africa(ns) in the olden days and the influence today
SOUTH AFRICAN LANGUAGES:
Language Art is important as students will be learning a Ssotho and Zulu songs. Students learn the vowels in Ssotho/Zulu and a few other phrases.
